As I was posting this, I was reminded of an incident in Syracuse NY. John and Paul were to do two shows before this one – in Syracuse and Cortland. I was at my desk in Greensboro NC when John called me. They’d landed in Syracuse – that is to say that John and Paul did but John’s guitar was in route somewhere else! I frantically called everyone I knew in Syracuse to find him a guitar.
I’d almost given up when John called me back to say that it had miraculously reappeared. Thank God!
