This past February 28, John Wicks would have celebrated his 66th birthday. Friends marked the date with a celebration of his life and a packed house at Bogie’s at Westlake Village. This was one of John’s favorite venues to perform at.

The celebrities in attendance were too numerous to mention so I won’t waste your time. Most noteworthy though were performances by Peter Asher, Bill Berry, Debbi Peterson and Al Stewart just to name a few.

The highlight for many came when Jude Cole, a member of The Records and key contributor to their second album (Crashes), took the stage for a couple of the band’s classics. Here’s a clip from the final number of the evening, the flagship song of powerpop and Records classic “Starry Eyes”.
